I’m not a Buddhist, but sometimes a bracing shot of Buddhism is just what I need. This book showed up in our new P.O. Box as a gift from my dear friend and writing teacher, Sage Cohen. It has found its place in my early morning routine of a little spiritual reading after writing in my journal, and each chapter is the perfect length to read one per day. I have had more than one rather mystical experience of closing my journal and opening to my bookmarked place in When Things Fall Apart, only to find pretty much a direct answer to what I was just writing about. This wise, plain-spoken teacher shows how the issues we all deal with in human life are so hard, and so simple, and not at all easy.
