When I searched for library ebook fiction set in Salzburg this is one of the few titles I found, and after reading a few chapters I was not surprised to find an interview with the author on the Harelequin blog. It does have that boilerplate romance novel feel, which is a genre I never read, but the World War II setting and the plot line of secretly arranging for Jews to escape from Nazi Austria is probably enough to entertain me during our few days visiting Salzburg at the beginning of our Wilderness Travel hiking trip in the Alpes Adria region of Austria, Slovenia, and Italy.
Update a week later: just couldn’t do it! The writing was melodramatic and contrived, so that left only the historical plot, and I just couldn’t trust the research chops of this author.
