Dear Writer: Pep Talks & Practical Advice for the Creative Life

Version 1.0.0

by Maggie Smith

I found this on the New Books shelf at the library and it made it into my early morning few-pages-a-day non-fiction queue. Usually I am a little leery about books about writing, because they can become an excellent procrastination tool to read instead of writing, but I admire Maggie Smith very much as a poet and wanted to hear what she had to say. I ended up buying my own copy because it will become a reference book in my poetry practice; it contains a lot of the material that she uses as an instructor in an MFA program.
