This was an interesting look at Japanese culture, and a good depiction of the inner life of the main character, Tsukuru Tazai, but I can’t say I liked it enough to recommend it. I don’t know how it ended up on my “to read” list, but I chose to read it because I finally figured out how to down library books into a Kindle instead of buying from Amazon, which I have never been willing to do. I always prefer print when I have the choice, but it’s nice to have this option for library books that are hard to get in print.
